SpaceX Starship Lunar Lander Project

SpaceX is developing the Starship rocket as a lunar lander for NASA's Artemis III mission to land astronauts on the moon. The project involves a reusable two-stage rocket system, launchpads, and ground operations to support multiple rapid launches for orbital refueling. The Starship is 15 stories tall and designed to carry two astronauts to the lunar surface and back to lunar orbit. The project has faced multiple test explosions and delays, with the first ship-to-ship fuel transfer test delayed until at least 2026. NASA's Artemis III mission is currently targeted for 2027 but is expected to slip to 2028 or later, with SpaceX's Starship readiness possibly not until 2032.
