Description | The SIR-2026 exercise aims to prepare clean, accurate, and credible electoral rolls by including every eligible Indian citizen and removing names of deceased persons, duplicate entries, permanently shifted voters, and other ineligible persons. Preparatory activities include training and printing of enumeration forms, door-to-door distribution and collection of forms by booth level officers, and rationalisation of polling stations. The draft electoral roll will be published on July 21, 2026, with claims and objections accepted until August 20, and the final roll published on September 22, 2026. |
