Specialized Transit Expansion Vehicles

• The scope of this project is to acquire three specialized vehicles to ensure Burlington Transit has the capacity to meet the needs of those who require accessible transit. • The goal is to increase capacity of specialized transit by expanding the fleet by three 40-feet gasoline vehicles between 2020 and 2023, supporting the City of Burlington’s growing population. To meet the demand, these specialized vehicles are required to manage close to 52,000 additional passenger trips by 2023. • The project will improve the capacity, quality and safety of existing and future transit systems as well as improve access to the public transit system in Burlington, Ontario.
