Description | A 16-bed acute care psychiatric treatment center is planned next to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility in Nevada City. The facility will serve Nevada County residents experiencing a behavioral health crisis requiring an involuntary hold. It will have two levels of care: short term acute care and sub-acute care for longer stays. The project aims to provide local acute care closer to home and improve quality of care. The county has contracted Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. to design, build, and operate the hospital. The project cost is $23.7 million, funded conditionally through the Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program from Proposition 1. |
