"According to the study “Equal access for migrant volunteers to sports clubs in Europe” (2016), migrants are underrepresented in sports activities at different levels. However, as stated in the White Paper on Sports (2007) “the accessibility of sports activity needs to be ensured for all citizens (…) the specific needs and situation of underrepresented groups must be addressed”. In fact, the European and academic community agrees on the benefits of sport for ethnic inclusion. This is also consistent with the experience of the partner organizations, who are institutions with experience in using sport and, in particular, the Education Through Sport methodology, for social promotion and inclusion. ""Sports trainers squared"" will focus on: 1. Identifying methods and practices that can be used to prepare migrants to become sports trainers, transforming them into a training format. 2. Identifying the existing knowledge of sports coaches (belonging to “team sports”) in order to train migrants, elaborating an online course based on their needs. 3. Empowering disadvantaged migrants and preparing them to become Sports Instructors through ETS."
