The projects include infrastructure creation, stadium upgrades, talent development facilities, and district-level sports centres. Key proposals include modernisation of the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium in Vijayawada, establishment of Khelo India district sports centres in all districts, setting up national centres of excellence in Kakinada and Guntur, and residential centres for athletics and taekwondo in Rayalaseema and Tirupati. A special request for Rs 170 crore funding for the reconstruction of BR Stadium in Guntur was also made. |
