Description | The Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir project will reduce the effects of future extreme flood events on the City of Calgary and other downstream communities. The construction of an off-stream storage reservoir, diversion channel, earthfill dam and outlet structure, will allow for extreme flood flow to be diverted from the Elbow River, contained in the storage reservoir and then later released back into the Elbow River after the flood peak has passed. |
