Description | The Spruce Grove Smart Fare Equipment Project (the Project) consists of the installation of advanced fare payment technology on transit buses. The installation of Intelligent Transit System (ITS) will improve the quality of existing public transit system in the city of Spruce Grove. The Project will simplify the payment of bus fares and enable seamless access across the Metro Edmonton Region. Additionally, the Project will provide transit rider origin-destination information that will be used to improve the service and improve the accuracy of revenue allocations between transit agency that also participate in the U Pass program. The Project will improve quality and/or safety of existing and/or future public transit. |
