Description

The Spruce Grove Transit Hub/Park and Ride Project (the Project) consists of the creation of a Transit Hub. The Project will be located on City-owned property on the west side of the Century Road between the road on the right-of-way and The Links golf course. This location is adjacent to the first and last bus stops to and from Edmonton and provides easy access to and from Highway 16. The Transit Hub will include: • 73 park and ride stalls; • 16 bike parking stalls; • a southbound bus bay for the bus to layover without blocking traffic; • a southbound bus stop with a heated shelter; • a northbound bus stop with a heated shelter; • an operator washroom; • intersection signal improvements at the Westwind Drive entrance to the Park And Ride; and • installation of a pedestrian crossing on the north side of the Vanderbilt Common intersection. The Project will result in improved capacity of public transit infrastructure, improved access to public transit, and improved capacity and/or quality of pathways and/or active transportation infrastructure.
