Description

Description

Project number STP-179-1(8) will widen SR 113 from east of Taylorsville in Polk County to CR 31 in Bartow County. The length of project is approximately 4.49 miles. This project will not build the section of roadway between Hills Creek and Dry Creek or the bridges over these creeks. This 0.78 mile section of roadway and the bridges over the creeks will be built under project BRF-179-1(4) and be an exception on project STP-179-1(8). Project STP-179-1(8) follows new location south of SR 113 from the beginning of the project to Hills Creek. The project then follows existing location from Dry Creek to CR 31. The existing road consists of 24 feet of pavement with 4 foot shoulders on 100 foot of right-of-way, and will be widened to a rural section with 4-12 foot lanes (2 in each direction) with a 44 foot depressed grassed median requiring a variable 200-250 feet of right of way. The proposed shoulders will be 10 feet wide with 6.5 feet of the shoulder being paved.
