Description

Project EDS-565(11) Burke/Jenkins Counties represents a portion of the Savannah River Parkway, US 25/SR 121, between Millen and Waynesboro. This project would begin approximately 1700 feet south of the Millen Bypass in Jenkins County and follow SR 121 in a northerly direction ending approximately 3120 feet north of CR 354/Wilson-Drake Road and CR 118/Munnelyn Alexander Road in Burke County where it would join a proposed matching section on the EDS-565(12) Burke County project. Proposed bridges would be constructed over Spring Mill Branch at Magnolia Springs State Park. This project would widen existing US 25/SR 121 from two lanes to four lanes divided by a 44 foot depressed grass median. This section would include 10 foot shoulders with 6.5 foot paved on the outside and 6 foot shoulders with 2 foot paved on the inside. The proposed widening will improve the operational characteristics and safety along this section of State Route 121.
