Description | The purpose of this project is to enhance safety, reduce crash frequency and severity at the intersection of SR 124 and Old Hog Mountain Road in northeast Barrow County. A TE study was performed for the project in August 2017 to identify potential safety concerns of the intersection and determine mitigation measures. Based on the TE study, a single lane roundabout is deemed to be the most favorable intersection control alternative. The geometry of the single lane roundabout will help reduce vehicle speeds and conflict points thereby, lowering the potential for crash frequency as well as the severity of crashes. |
