The proposed improvement involves accommodating the heavy eastbound left turn movements by restriping. The eastbound approach leg will be restriped to provide dual left turn lanes and one shared through-right lane. The southbound lanes will be restriped to provide one left turn, two through lanes, and a right turn lane. The inside receiving lane on the east leg of the intersection will be restriped to provide a westbound left turn. The left turn lane on SR 19, located north of the intersection, will be converted to a two-way left turn lane, to provide southbound traffic better access to the parcels located on the northeast corner of the intersection. Additionally, the proposed improvement consists of removing of split phasing on all approaches. Eastbound and westbound left turns will be protected only, and north and south left turning movements will be protected-permitted.
