At I-75 NB Ramps, the proposed improvement would extend a total storage length of 1000 ft for the existing northbound left turn lanes. The proposed improvement also provides a dual northbound right turn lanes at the intersection. The additional turn lane storage and addition of a new right turn lane will require widening to the west of the NB approach. Upon completion, the proposed dual right turn lanes would be signalized. Although the analysis models did not permit Right-Turn-on-Red, during the final design phase, sight distance may be deemed adequate to allow this movement once construction is complete. This limitation in the analysis ensures conservative delay improvement results, preventing an overestimation of the project's impacts. Based on this improvement, the queueing is expected to be reduced in AM peak period. The extension of the dual left turn lanes is expected to improve northbound approach queues significantly.
