Description | This project will replace the existing 2-lane bascule bridge with a new 2-lane high level bridge over Skidaway Narrows. The new bridge will be constructed parallel to and north of the existing bridge within existing right-of-way. The proposed high-rise bridge will be 3,220 feet long and 38 feet wide including two 11-foot lanes with 8 foot shoulders. Bike lanes will be included on the 8-foot shoulders. The minimum clearance over the navigable channel is proposed at 65 feet above mean high water (MHW). The removal of the existing bascule bridge will be included in this project. The length of the total project (bridge and approaches) will be approximately 1.25 miles. The future road widening and parallel companion bridge will be constructed on Project STP-00MS(4), P.I. #550550 SR 204 SPUR/Diamond Causeway widening. |
