Description

This project proposes to widen S.R. 307/ Dean Forest Road from Robert B. Miller Road to S.R. 21 for a total of 1.23 mile. Currently, this five lane section of S.R. 307/ Dean Forest Road is an undivided roadway. The proposed typical section consist of two 12-ft lanes in each direction with a 20-ft raised median along with left and right turn lanes at all intersections. Curb & gutter and 12-ft shoulders with 4:1 slopes are proposed on both sides of S.R. 307. The project is located near the Savannah Airport in the cities of Savannah and Garden City. New traffic signals are proposed for the intersections of S.R. 307 at Robert Miller Road and S.R. 307 at Commerce/Export Drives. This project places a 200-ft double 7 X 4 ft box culvert under S.R. 307 east of CSX railroad crossing and west of Commerce/Export Blvd.
