This project consists of upgrading traffic signal equipment at nine (9) intersections in Columbia County, GA. The nine intersections are as follows: Int.#1-SR383 @ Frontage Rd.; Int.#2-SR383 @ I-20 Eastbound ramps; Int.#3-SR383 @ I-20 Westbound ramps; Int.#4-SR383 @ Wheeler Rd.; Int.#5-SR383 @ Oakley Pirkle Rd.; ; Int.#7-SR383 @ Cox Rd./Owens Rd.; Int.#8-SR383 @ Hereford Farm Rd.; Int.#9-SR383 @ SR 104 (Washington Rd.) Int.#6-SR383 @ SR232 - this intersection will be removed from this project and will be covered under STP-174-1(7) P.I. # 231440 This project will improve the overall efficiency and safety of traffic flow by upgrading traffic signal displays, installing state of the art traffic signal control equipment, provide better signal coordination through fiber optic communications and improve pedestrian safety by providing crosswalks, pedestrian signals and sidewalk ramps where appropriate.
