Description

This project is the replacement of a structurally deficient bridge on SR 47 over Keg Creek , 6.9 miles North of Appling, Georgia. The construction proposes to construct a new 195-ft x 44-ft concrete bridge over Keg Creek at the existing bridge site. The approaches will consist of two, 12-ft lanes with 10-ft shoulders (4-ft paved). The traffic will be maintained during construction utilizing an off-site detour. This project will consist of closing SR 47 during construction and temporarily routing traffic along SR 150 from Pollard's Corner to CR 986 and back to SR 47. The existing bridge will be demolished and a new bridge constructed in the same area as the old bridge. Once construction is complete, traffic will be returned to SR 47.
