Description | This project consists of the construction of two passing lanes on State Route 47 north and south of Appling. Passing lane No. 1 consists of two 12' travel lanes in each direction separated by a 4' flush median beginning at mile post 15.07 and ending at mile post 13.40. Included on this passing lane is the realignment of Lonergan-Hulme Road (CR 285) and also the installation of a Traffic Signal at the intersection of State Route 47 and State Route 232. The shoulders consist of 10' rural shoulders of which 4' will be paved. Traffic will be maintained on existing lanes during construction. Passing lane No. 2 consists of one - 12' northbound travel lane and two 12' southbound travel lanes with 10' rural shoulders of which 4' will be paved from mile post 7.98 to 6.75. Traffic will be detoured on this portion of the project to replace an existing triple 10' x 10' bridge culvert. Traffic will be detoured along County Road 986 and State Route 150 during construction. |
