This project consists of the construction of a southbound passing lane on SR 47 from MP 2.45 to MP 3.88. The proposed roadway will consist of three 12-ft travel lanes with 10-ft grassed shoulders (4-ft each side to be paved). Safety slopes will be constructed and the vertical alignment will be corrected to meet current AASHTO Green Book Criteria. An off-site detour shall be used during the reconstruction of the vertical alignment. The proposed detour route will begin at the intersection of SR 47/US 221 and follow SR 150 in a southwesterly direction to the intersection of CR 986 (Old SR 47), then travel in a northwesterly direction along CR 986 back to SR 47. This will decrease the impacts to wetlands located within the area of the proposed on-site detour on SR 47 and will reduce project cost since no additional work will be done to the detour route.
