Project CSBRG-0007-00(021) represents the construction of a new two lane bridge over Chestatee River (Lake Lanier) approximately 7.3 miles west of the city of Gainesville. The project will replace the existing steel truss bridge that currently exists at this location, which is considered structurally deficient. The project will begin at a point approximately 0.39 miles southwest of the Chestatee River and extend to a point approximately 0.35 miles northeast of the Chestatee River. The project length is approximately 0.74 miles. The proposed bridge will consist of two 12-foot lanes with 8-foot shoulders. The roadway approaches will be reconstructed to provide two 12-foot lanes and 10-foot shoulders. The shoulder will include a 2-foot paved shoulder.
