The proposed improvement would modify the existing signal into a signalized R-CUT. The signalized R-CUT would be constructed to include dual northbound left and dual westbound right turn lanes. The restricted eastbound and westbound left turn and thru movements would be rerouted as right turns to U-turn at the adjacent unsignalized intersections, Whitfield Dr and Hazel Mosley Dr, on SR 515/SR 5. The proposed northbound and westbound dual turn lanes would provide additional capacity and reduce queue spillback for the movement's high vehicle volumes. Additionally, the proposed signalized RCUT would improve overall intersection safety by reducing conflict points at the intersection.
