Description
Description | This project replaces the original SR 60 bridge over the Chattahoochee River/Lake Lanier. The existing two-lane northbound bridge on SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road will be removed and replaced with a new two-lane bridge relocated west of the existing two-lane bridge to be retained southbound on SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road. After construction northbound SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road traffic will be shifted to the existing two-lane bridge and southbound SR 60/Thompson Bridge Road traffic will be shifted to the new alignment two-lane bridge. The proposed structure is approximately 1103 feet long by 39.25 feet wide. This includes two,12-foot travel lanes and eight foot outside rural shoulder and a four foot inside rural shoulder. The total length of the project is approximately 0.72 miles, beginning approximately 0.26 miles south of the existing bridge abutment and ending approximately 0.26 miles north of the existing bridge abutment. |
