This project consists of replacing two bridges on SR 61 in Bartow County. These bridges were designed using an HS-20 vehicle, which is below our current design standards. The bridge on SR 61 over Sugar Hill Creek, Structure ID 015-0039-0, was built in 1962. The bridge consists of three spans of reinforced concrete deck girders (RCDG’s) on concrete caps with concrete columns. There is cracking in the deck and in the RCDG’s. There is additional cracking in the bent caps. The bridge on SR 61 over Pine Log Creek, Structure ID 015-0040-0, was built in 1962. The bridge consists of three spans of reinforced concrete deck girders (RCDG’s) on concrete caps with concrete columns. The deck is in good condition. The RCDG’s have minor cracking. There is spalling with exposed rebar in the bent caps and abrasion on the concrete columns.
