FDOT will hold a hybrid public open house for the SR 77 widening project in Washington County on Thursday, July 27 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (CDT). This event will be held both virtually and in-person to provide information about the project and provide an opportunity for inquiries and comments.The $56 million construction project includes widening a 3.5-mile segment of SR 77, from Rogers Road to Cane Mill Road, in Wausau. This project is aimed at increasing capacity on SR 77 from two to four lanes, improving traffic safety, and enhancing mobility. Additional improvements will include new sidewalks and bicycle lanes, reconstructing adjacent intersections to improve traffic flow, stormwater enhancements for better drainage, and traffic signal and intelligent transportation system upgrades. The project is estimated for completion in early 2027.
