Description | The deliverable will be a GDOT concept report to evaluate alternatives for pedestrian and bicycle facilities along Lawrenceville Hwy (SR 8). The study will also develop an access management plan for the commercial corridor with excessive access points and small lot sizes. The project falls within a LCI area, is on the priority bike network and is within the 1/4 mile from local bus service. Lawrenceville Hwy is classified as a principal arterial with an AADTs around 24000 vehicles per day and carries a MARTA bus route. It connects the commercial nodes of Main Street Tucker to the Emory Hospital/Rehoboth Church node. Pedestrain crossing safety, especially a MARTA bus stops, will be a priority of the study. Other pedestrian/bicycle amenities such as street lighting, pedestrian lighting, beautification and other enhancements will be considered based on public input. |
