Description
Description | SR 87A Connector from US 90 to Munson Highway: 416748-8: The new construction of SR 87A will primarily consist of a new alignment from south of US 90 to CR 191 (Munson Highway). The SR 87A Connector is proposed to ultimately be a 4-lane, divided highway; however, it is the intent of this project to build a 4-lane facility from the beginning of the project to approximately 2,000’ north of Opportunity Drive and then transition to an interim, 2-lane facility for the remainder of the project. A multiuse path is proposed adjacent to the west side of SR 87. This multiuse path will begin at historic SR 1 (Old Spanish Trail) at US 90 and will end by tying into the Blackwater River Heritage State Trail once it crosses over the Blackwater River. This project will also include buffered bicycle lanes within the curbed 4-lane part of the facility, two new bridges over the Blackwater River and floodplain, an upgraded signal at US 90, new signs, and pavement markings. The proposed construction will include acquiring right-of-way for the ultimate 4-lane build out, including stormwater ponds. The SR 87A Connector is proposed to ultimately be a 4-lane, divided highway; however, it is the intent of this project to build an interim, 2-lane facility. This project will also include buffered bicycle lanes, a new bridge over Clear Creek and medians, new signs, pavement markings and signalization. The proposed construction will include acquiring right-of-way for the ultimate 4-lane build out and stormwater ponds, drainage improvements, the realignment of Munson Highway/CR 191 at the intersection of SR 87A, and a new connection from SR 87N to SR 89N.Nikole Arrant, FDOT Project Manager | 850-415-9017 | narrant@hntb.comFunding: Neither segment is funded for right-of-way acquisition or construction in the current FDOT Five-Year Work Program. |
