Description
Description | The proposed initiative aims to strengthen the provision of ongoing primary healthcare transformations in Sri Lanka, particularly in the wake of the nation's most severe economic downturn experienced in the recent past and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project will focus on three core components: 1.Sustaining Essential Services: The operation will ensure the continuity of essential care healthcare services and to scale it up with adaptive scalability across the country through the Primary Medical Care Institution System (PMCIS). It will support resources for the primary healthcare strengthening in the country and guarantee timely access to indispensable services, including medications, laboratory diagnostics, medical equipment, and other operational costs. 2.Enhancing Quality of Care: The project will undertake measures to elevate the standard of care within PMCIs. Efforts will be directed towards improving the skills of healthcare professionals, advancing quality management systems to augment patient experiences, and encouraging care coordination alongside community involvement. 3.Community Engagement and Risk Awareness: The initiative will also focus on expanding risk awareness by actively engaging communities and citizens, thereby promoting a more informed and proactive approach to health risks and continued care. |
