SRL is the largest organized medical diagnostics service provider in India. SRL’s services include 1) pathology services; 2) radiology / imaging services; 3) wellness services; 4) clinical trial testing and 5) international operations. As at September 2011, SRL operated a network of 8 reference laboratories, 168 pathology network laboratories, 18 radiology network centers, 19 wellness centers and 1,061 collection centers. IFC is considering a financial investment in SRL which will help SRL optimize its capital structure by repaying existing debt and also help finance the expansion of its radiology and pathology laboratories network across the country, over the next five years (“Project”). SRL’s expansion plans are relatively asset light with expansion through franchising and tapping the Fortis hospital network.
