SSN-Aukus Nuclear Submarine Program

A 50-year treaty between the UK and Australia to design, build, operate, sustain, and dispose of a new class of nuclear-powered submarines called SSN-Aukus. The submarines will incorporate technology from the UK, Australia, and the US. The UK will build submarines in northern England for the Royal Navy, and Australia will build its own submarines in South Australia for delivery in the 2040s. The treaty also includes training, infrastructure development at Osborne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide, and creating a seamless defense industrial base between the two countries.
