Description

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for a shared-use path along U.S.17 from State Road (S.R.) 40 in Barberville to the Putnam County Line. This 13.7 mile long shared-use path will close a gap in the 260-mile St. Johns River to Sea Loop Trail. The PD&E Study process is a blending of transportation planning, engineering analysis, environmental evaluations and public involvement and coordination with government partners. The preferred alternative proposes a 12-foot-wide paved shared-use path along the east (northbound) side of U.S. 17 within the project limits.
