Stabilization Facility for Libya (UNDP)

Ongoing outbreaks of violence due to social and power-political conflicts as well as deteriorating access to basic social services due to fragmented institutions and destroyed municipal infrastructure are a core problem in Libya. The facility makes a positive contribution to local stabilization and improved conflict resolution processes by strengthening legitimate and internationally recognized state authorities and promoting national unity in the country. The target group are the residents of the cities of Tawergha, Sabha, Sirte and Ubari with a total population of around 333,000. Key outputs are the rehabilitation of various basic social infrastructure/equipment that meets the expectations of the citizens. UNDP is involved in implementing the project.
