Need and common challenges The participating regions have limited resources and knowhow to support the creation of student based knowledge-intensive cross-border companies. Combining competences from several relevant higher education programmes, student populations and enterprise development agencies are needed. Entrepreneurial talent and ambition are rare in each participating region and joint actions within the Central Baltic states are needed to get critical enough mass of prospective company founders. It is recognized that the entrepreneurial career path is a viable avenue for employment in the times of economic restructuring. An attractive cross-border initiative is needed to get the best students to seriously take up international entreprenurship. Approach The perspective of European territorial and international entrepreneurship from the outset Attracting entrepreneurial talent into the region Cross-media coverage and international promotion of cross-border startup development process Parallel cross-border competence development both of new venture teams and of coaches and enterprise development agencies How the project is implemented The project was planned together with all the partners. Partners participate in almost all the activities jointly in order to achieve a genuine cross-border competences and coopertaion model which works also after the project Cross-border cooperation is needed to collect critical enough mass of complementary competences and utilize different national business cultures. Expected results 10-15 knowledge intensive cross-border companies and 5-6 cooperation agreements. International visibility of the student-based entrepreneurial ecosystem. Enhanced competence and network model for supporting the creation and growth of knowledge-intensive cross-border companies jointly by universities and enterprise development agencies and private actors.
