Description | The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is proposing to widen State Route 1 (US 70, Summer Ave.) from near I-40 to north of Sycamore View Rd. Currently, SR 1 consists of four travel lanes with a center turn lane. This project will widen SR 1 to include six travel lanes, a center turn lane, and bike lanes. This project will increase the capacity of SR 1 and reduce congestion for current and future local and regional travelers. As part of this project, the existing bridge spans over the Wolf River and Fletcher Creek, which are currently seismically deficient, will be replaced. |
