Description | The State Route 178 Culvert Replacement Project proposes to remove and replace two culverts along a portion of State Route 178 in Kern County at postmiles 72.70 and 72.79. The existing culverts are badly rusted and failing. This deterioration has made the culverts difficult to maintain for Caltrans maintenance staff. The project would replace the two 18” failed corrugated steel pipe culverts with two new 24” HDPE culverts. This will allow the culverts to function properly and make them easier to maintain. |
