Description | An $11 million project to repair and resurface a busy 2.5-mile stretch of State Route 286 from Interstate 590 in Brighton to Qualtrough Road in Penfield, Monroe County. The project includes travel improvements, pedestrian and cyclist safety enhancements such as ADA-compliant sidewalk curb ramps, improved guide rails and median barriers, upgraded drainage systems, updated signage, addition of five-foot shoulders near Knollbrook and Shaftsbury roads, and new sidewalks from White Village Drive to Blossom Road and from 590 to Knollbrook Road. The project will limit the stretch to one lane with closed shoulders during construction and is expected to complete by summer 2027. |
