State Route 59 Capital Preventive Maintenance Project

The proposed project is a Capital Preventive Maintenance (CAPM) to preserve and extend the pavement service life within the project limits. The project is located on State Route (SR) 59, in Merced County, in the City of Merced from 0.20 mile south of SR 59 and W Childs Ave intersection (PM 14.1) to the intersection of SR 59 and SR 99 (PM 14.763) continuing from the intersection of SR 59 and SR 99 on V St (PM 14.78) to 0.10 mile north of South Fork Black Rascal Creek near Santa Fe Drive intersection (PM 16.3). The scope of the work includes cold planning existing pavement, dig-outs to repair localized areas of severe failure, sealing cracks, repair, replace and upgrade AC dikes and curbs, adding shoulder backing, upgrading Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps, replacement of existing drainage grates with bicycle proof grates where needed, and signal work at 3 intersections: (15th St (ED023), 16th St (ED003) and Santa Fe Drive/Olive Ave (ED004) intersections with SR 59.
