State Route 89A Guardrail Replacement Project

The project involves replacing older sections of guardrail, reconstructing sections of curb and gutter, and installing concrete barriers along State Route 89A's switchbacks at the north end of Oak Creek Canyon. Lane restrictions are in place with temporary traffic signals allowing one-directional travel through the work zone. The work schedule has been updated to open both lanes at noon on Fridays and throughout weekends. The project is scheduled for completion by late summer 2026.
