Statistics for the European Green Deal

The European Green Deal sets up targets in the field of environmental policy. The implementation of the environmental policies requires well-founded, long-term, robust monitoring, with special focus on the environmental performance of all actors of the economy. To this end, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) proceeds with methodological developments in the framework of this grant also focusing on statistical reporting shortly becoming mandatory. The work package on energy efficiency of buildings builds upon earlier grant works. Beyond further improving the data quality of residential buildings, this year non-residential buildings shall be prioritised in the methodological development. As regard to environmental accounts, HCSO shall continue the methodology development of the environmental subsidies and similar transfers accounts attempting to produce more granular data focusing on NACE disaggregation, and the ecosystem accounts, more specifically the nature-based tourism-related services indicator.
