The objective of this grant call is the development of more and better data and statistics needed to underpin the policies under the European Green Deal. In order to do that, CBS is planning to apply to a grant project which will consist of the main objective: Implement the classification of environmental purposes (CEP) for the 2025 data collection on environmental goods and services sector (EGSS)

Description
Description | The objective of this grant call is the development of more and better data and statistics needed to underpin the policies under the European Green Deal. In order to do that, CBS is planning to apply to a grant project which will consist of the main objective: Implement the classification of environmental purposes (CEP) for the 2025 data collection on environmental goods and services sector (EGSS), on environmental protection expenditures accounts (EPEA) and on environmental subsidies and similar transfers (ESST). Main activities that will be a part of the project are the complete revision of EPEA, EGSS and ESST data collection to the new CEP classification as well as the investigation of national data sources from various statistical areas and development of various methods and procedures to compile and report data on climate change investments and expenditures. During the project, CBS will work on the upgrade of the existing EPEA and EGSS annual survey by adding the CEP classification and new products relevant for climate change mitigation and adaptation. Data will be compiled using the latest versions of the EGSS, EPEA and ESST questionnaires. The results will include new and revised datasets in the areas listed above, studying of methodologies, data collection via survey for EGSS and EPEA, whilst for ESST development of innovative techniques to produce data avoiding conventional surveys and their reporting burden (instead using administrative data sources, mainly the national accounts data). Aim is also to get practical information on methodology, data collection and processing methods used for producing modules of environmental accounts, in other words to develop more and better-quality data in these areas. For EPEA, CBS is planning to deliver data for years from 2014-2023 (whole data series) for EGSS data for years 2014-2024, for ESST for all available years and one additional year (2020, 2021 and new data for 2022). |
