Steele Valley Stormwater Management Pond Rehabilitation and Repair

The Steele Valley Stormwater Management Pond (SWMF#16) requires pond rehabilitation with alterations to the outlet structure that manages stormwater discharge to Millers Creek during peak storm events, repair to access road, installation of new chain gate and removal of sediment off site as per Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change criteria. This project will help maintain the existing wetland and wildlife habitat and prevent localized flooding and erosion issues on Millers Creek, as well as provide water quality improvements through nutrient retention and water filtration that this stormwater management facility provides when operating as designed. This project is a major repair and requires large excavation equipment and hauling away of potentially hazards material which is not routine.
