Stegra Green Steel Plant

under construction

Stegra is developing a large-scale green steel plant in Boden, Sweden, aiming to decarbonize steel production by using hydrogen-based processes instead of coal. The project is positioned as a cornerstone for Europe's green industrial transition, supplying low-emissions steel to sectors such as automotive and construction. The newly secured €1.4 billion financing will be used to complete construction, cover rising costs, bring infrastructure components in-house, and establish a financial buffer, putting the project on a fully funded path toward commissioning.
