Stellantis South Africa Vehicle Assembly Plant Expansion

planned

Stellantis is expanding its manufacturing strategy in South Africa by broadening the product mix at its upcoming greenfield factory in Gqeberha. Initially planned to produce only the Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck, the plant will now assemble multiple vehicle types, including smaller vehicles, to meet changing market demands. The plant will operate as a completely knocked down (CKD) facility, assembling vehicles locally from imported and locally sourced components, serving both domestic and other African markets. Production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.
