The project will produce gold and antimony, the latter being essential for defense applications, semiconductor manufacturing, and renewable energy technologies. The project is funded by a $2.9 billion loan from the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the largest loan under EXIM's "Make More in America" initiative and the agency's fourth largest loan on record. Construction has begun and the mine is expected to be operational in 2029. |
