Description | Matrix Renewables started commercial operations at its 210-MWac/281-MWdc Stillhouse Solar plant in Texas. The project secured investment tax credit (ITC) funding and converted construction financing into long-term debt. The solar farm, located in Bell County, represents a total investment of more than USD 380 million. The financing structure included term debt and letter of credit support from MUFG, HSBC, and ING Capital LLC, with Northleaf Capital as a minority investor. Production is backed by 15-year power purchase agreements with affiliates of Hyundai Motor. The plant is expected to generate enough electricity to supply about 48,800 homes. The project includes a community engagement program with nearly USD 3 million allocated to local initiatives. SOLV Energy provided engineering, procurement, and construction services and was retained to operate and maintain the facility under a long-term contract. The project was completed ahead of schedule and below budget. |
