Description
Description | Stockland is planning to replace nearly half of its existing west Melbourne distribution site with a new data centre facility. The proposed data centre will occupy just under half of the existing distribution centre at 413 Francis Street in Brooklyn's industrial precinct, 10km from Melbourne CBD. The project has been submitted through the Victorian Government’s Development Facilitation Program and is under review. The facility will use energy-efficient technologies and is designed without water-based cooling systems. The data centre is estimated to have a value of about $2 billion and is expected to result in less intensive industrial activity with fewer heavy vehicle movements once operational. |
