Stockton Downtown Transformation Project

It is proposed to transform portions of the corridor under the SR 4 Crosstown Freeway in Stockton, CA, providing improvements that will help restore the once vibrant cultural identity and community; reconnect the community north and south of the Crosstown Freeway which bisected this community when it was constructed. The proposed project concept includes meandering paths/sidewalks, skate park, cultural themed playground, recreational facilities, murals, community garden, grandstand for cultural events, etc. in a historically underserved area of Stockton. It is also proposed to collaborate with the downtown communities such as the Downtown Stockton Alliance and Little Manilla Rising, which has an air quality grant to monitor air quality and mitigate poor air quality with vegetation.
