Description
Description | StandByMe 2.0 aims at countering online and offline violence against women and girls (VAWG) caused by toxic masculinities and related harmful stereotypes via youth actions in Hungary, Italy, Poland and Slovenia. The project will educate and empower young people to take action against the phenomenon, facilitating their ability to detect it, as well as supporting their voice as change agents, and offering stakeholders, professionals and the general public their unique vision and perspective. This through the development and the delivering of a digital platform for gamified online awareness for raising actions against VAWG and a comprehensive blended learning program consisting of offline and online educational activities, materials, gamification techniques and the possibility to take a wide range of actions to counter online and offline VAWG. The educational activities will be specifically focused on raising awareness about the concept of toxic masculinity and how it affects VAWG. The following achievements will be expected: 1) Schools in Europe educate and empower students to take action against the phenomenon; 2) Young boys and girls in Europe act as change agents to promote gender equality, exploiting the potential of social media monitoring and gamification for education; 3) Institutions and other relevant stakeholders are prompted by young people to integrate a human rights-based approach in preventing and countering online and offline VAWG. |
