Storm Sewer Improvement and Reconstruction of Lower Portion of John Street

The project will upgrade approximately 350m of rural road to a semi-urban cross section including swaled curbs. The storm sewers are included as a modification of original design to assist with water flow in this area which is known to have clay-based soil. The original design was for a rural cross-section with ditches. The revised design is an urban cross-section with ditches filled in and a storm sewer system connecting to the existing network. All required permits through MTO (Ontario Ministry of Transportation) and MOECC (Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change) will be prepared following the findings of a hydrogeological investigation that will assess water taking needs under Ontario Water Resources Act and related regulations.
