Description
Description | This project will identify, map, inspect, and complete a condition assessment of an estimated 56.5 kilometers of all natural and manmade storm water overland flow systems within the city limits. Overland water systems currently receive reactive maintenance only, and base level information regarding conditions is not known. The project data will capture critical information such as life cycle activities and asset life expectancy which are required for maintenance planning and execution. The project will provide base level (overland infrastructure) information that will form the foundation of an asset based GIS layer. This layer is intended to remain active, allowing for updates on inspections and condition assessments that will in turn guide future maintenance expenditures and provide system performance data. An updated life cycle investment profile will also be developed for the overland stormwater system based on the capital requirements for the renewal of the City’s existing infrastructure. This project will consist primarily of experienced in-field inspectors identifying and assessing the condition of individual assets of the City’s overland stormwater system via an asset record template. The inspectors will record the location (GPS) of each overland stormwater asset (linear or point feature) to create an updated GIS layer. Linear features will be divided by a determined length and managed as individual assets for efficient maintenance planning and expenditure. Asset valuation will also be recorded for different rehabilitation levels (if suitable for asset type), along with estimated replacement figures. |
